Press Release on 23rd June 2010:
The phrase “My Power Station” was invented by David Lipschitz on 23rd June 2010 and replaced his first company “Orbital Decisions.”
Orbital Decisions started on 4th November 1996. Over time David helped to run a number of separate companies and an NGO and over time he and his wife, Mirjana, started a number of “personal” activities such as Tai Chi, African Jembe Drumming, studying Buddhist practices, Kabbalah, Walking, Hiking, Meditation and David become a Prayer Leader and was the founder member of a new Synagogue in Cape Town.
In June 2010, David started with a clean sheet of paper and wrote down all the things he does and enjoys doing. The net result was that he found that he is an energy expert.
With internal and external energy. Internal energy being the Tai Chi and other things listed above and External energy being software development, renewable energy systems design and installation, talking in parliament, convincing people to change, selling electricity meters, etc.
A new name was sought and David came up with My Power Station. My Power Station signified that each of us have our own internal and external power station that we need to manage and that we need to keep in tune with our environment, Earth, and with universal energy.
The name cannot be Our Power Station because “our” allows us to blame someone else when something goes wrong, or continue being apathetic and not doing anything. My Power Station is significant and can lead us on a road of enlightenment, creating a beautiful life that doesn’t hurt anyone and doesn’t hurt the environment; that reduces our cost of living both for ourselves and our environment; that increases the quality of life; and that doesn’t have to cost the earth.
